| Dr.
Diane Roberts Stoler - BOOK TESTIMONIALS
|
| For
the person new to the subject, this sincere book is
a wonderful tour of the important topics. It can help
others be compassionate and understanding, and help
the person with a traumatic brain injury cope and
progress more effectively. From understanding the
time that recovery takes, to the many upsetting symptoms
that one may face, this book has answers, perspectives
and suggestions that everyone should know, and that
the injured and their family members sorely need to
know. |

| Great
Understanding Of MTBI!!! |
| In
July 2004 I was hit by a jet-ski, almost drowned,
broke my back and neck, and was supposed to be paralyzed
for the rest of my life. Luckily after a couple weeks
I started walking and I was able to start school in
September. But, after I started school I realized
I couldn't do my work as well, I couldn't remember
things, I couldn't pay attention, I had a short temper,
many things that you probably have as well if you
get this book. My counselor let me borrow it and it
helped me understand MTBI so well!! I couldn't beleive...I
finally had an understanding (and excuse) to why my
life was a little harder. I had to buy the book for
myself and I suggest you do too....it's wonderful. |

| " It was
the first book that made sense when talking about the
brain. I sometimes work with brain injury consumers,
and your book is always recommended." |

Dear Dr. Stoler, I just felt that I needed to send
you a short note because I wanted to thank you for
this book I have just read 'Coping with Mild Traumatic
Brain Injury'. This book has helped me accept what
has happened and know that there is life after such
an accident. I really believe that reading your book
has brought me back to knowing that I am here for
a reason and that I can do what ever I want as long
as I accept the new me. Thank you again for being
the best help to my recovery. Sincerely," |

"
Great resource for family members, co-workers and
friends of people who have experienced a mild brain
injury. Also informative for health insurance based
professionals who want a better understanding of what
their clients are experiencing." |

" This book was recommended to
me by a referral clinic as one of two volumes that
are helpful in explaining brain injury. Coping with
Mild Traumatic Brain Injury is an excellent and informative
book. It is very difficult to find a comprehensive
explanation for the symptoms of TBI much less a solution
for dealing with the problems. Before coping can begin,
identifying the problems is necessary. This volume
provided enlightenment and hope to me where years
of seeking treatment have left a sense of doubting
my own perceptions and reality and sense of self.
Just to know "yes, this IS happening to me" has made
a world of difference in the experience of recovering
in what is often a lonely, frustrating and disappointing
journey. This account by someone who has experienced
brain and psychic trauma has a quality of truth that
cannot be mistaken." |

Book Testimonials [continued ...]
" Diane Stoler has written a remarkable book. People who work
with survivors of traumatic brain injury know that nothing
is quite so fragile, and at the same time, so strong as a
human being. This can be a difficult concept, however, to
put into words. Yet Dr. Stoler has done precisely this. Her
description of the neurologic, emotional, and psychological
sequelae of traumatic brain injury is encyclopedic, and will
be instructive not only to survivors and their families, but
also to every professional who works in this field. At the
same time, something else emerges in this text through the
sharing of many personal experiences, and that is the indomitable
strength of the human spirit." |

"Dear
Dr. Stoler, I can't tell you what your book has done for me.
Because of the knowledge it gave me about TBI, I have been
able to understand a lot about what happened to me from my
accident, and that I'm not alone. It directed me to the TBI
chatroom, and there, I have met so many new friends that are
of like "minds", lol! The chatroom also made me realize that,
there but by the grace of God, go I. Your book has not only
been a help to me, it's been a help to my husband too. He
was as much in the dark about TBI as I was. Thank you, thank
you, thank you. I cannot thank you enough. " |
