Brain Mapping
Brain Mapping (Quantitative Electroencephalography), which is often represented as either qEEG or QEEG, is a brain map using an International 10/20 system in an analysis of individual frequencies or frequency bandwidth that make up the raw EEG. By doing so, the Brain Map is used to assess how the brain is functioning. From this assessment, there are standardized methods for improving specific areas of the brain and is done through neurofeedback, which is a subdivision of biofeedback.

Thanks to advances in technology, Brain Mapping (qEEG or quantitative EEG) can now be performed in our office with a 19-point cap attached to a computer. The data is compared to normative data bases and analyzed by experts who provide us with a detailed report. This information enables us to prepare a neurofeedback program with greater precision, enabling us to attain even greater results.
Neurofeedback
Also known as EEG biofeedback, neurofeedback is an operant conditioning method used to retrain a client's EEG into more optimally functioning patterns. Clients range from children with learning issues to adults seeking elite performance.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback is one type of Behavioral Medicine using information gained by monitoring skin temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and other body conditions to promote control over the normally involuntary nervous system through conditioning and relaxation. There are three types of biofeedback: thermal, muscular (EMG), and neurological (EEG). All employ some type of computer or monitoring device, along with electronic sensors to give information about what is going on in the body.
Cognitive Therapy
Assessment and treatment of cognitive skills, to include memory, attention and executive functioning (planning, sequencing, organizing, initiating, problem solving, decision making and self-awareness). Treatment is usually provided by a Speech-Language Pathologist and involves education and training of compensatory strategies so that individuals can complete daily tasks with greater independence and self-confidence.
Elite Performance Training
Elite performance training is attractive to those individuals who are already high performers who wish to reduce any remaining barriers to even greater success. We create an individualized program to achieve those goals; Neurofeedback, auditory training, photo stimulation and nutrition to name but a few of the tools available within our office.
The Tomatis Method®
The Tomatis Method® is a form of auditory listening training used for remediation of a number of issues ranging from ADD/ADHD, autism and dyslexia to sleep problems, fear of public speaking and the elite performance. Auditory training is performed with high quality recordings of classical music & Gregorian chant, filtration equipment and specialized headphones. We achieve our goals by optimizing listening through bone conduction, frequency filtration and left/right sonic gating.
iListen TherapyTM
iListenTM is a system used to provide therapeutic music consistent with the principles devised by Dr Alfred Tomatis. This system consists of an iPod Nano, a mini-amplifier and bone-conducting headphones. Music from Advanced Brain is pre-loaded onto the iListenTM device, e.g., The Listening Program® (Classic and Nature), as well as albums from Sound Health® series. The sound quality is absolutely beautiful due to the utilization of lossless PCM technology, the next step up from MP3 (lossy compression).

The music selections have been engineered to offer options to activate or calm a client. In addition, there are options to enhance the Peak Performance or evoke relaxation. iListenTM is a more generalized, faster approach to the custom Tomatis auditory training program.
Integrative Body Work
Integrative Body Work uses a multi-dimensional treatment approach. It incorporates the therapeutic massage, structural alignment and CranioSacral Therapy to relieve stress, relax the body and create new healthy physical patterns for the body. CranioSacral Therapy, developed by John Upledger, is the concept of dynamic activity and the relationship between the CranioSacral system, its function in health and its relationship to the disease process. These services are an important compliment to other services.
NeuroMuscular Massage
NeuroMuscular Massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase the blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue.
Massage Therapy
NeuroMuscular Massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase the blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology helps to normalize body functions. A Reflexology session relaxes the stress that can affect your health. It is a safe effective way to Better Health.
Trigger Point Therapy
It is a type of massage therapy which examines and treats muscles and muscle attachments in layers. It addresses surface muscles and connective tissues and deeper ligaments and connective tissues. It is closely aligned with the eastern technique of acupressure massage. The treatment techniques are very similar, the guidelines for applying acupressure apply to most Trigger Point Release applications.
Sport Massage
Sport Massage has become an integral part of an athletic regime and can provide an extra edge to the athletes who participate in high performance sports. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total conditioning program. Regular sports massage can reduce injuries, improve range of motion and muscle flexibility, shorten recovery time between the workouts, increase blood flow, and improve power and performance.
Energy Diagnostic and Treatment Methods (EDxTM)
Energy psychology is a relatively new discipline based on Chinese acupuncture.  Like acupuncture, stimulating specific points along twelve major pathways that are known as meridians, alters the body's energy.  Each meridian passes through a specific organ of the body.  The entire system is interconnected so that the chi, (also known as life force, ki, prana, and life energy), travels from one meridian to the next.  These meridians interact with a number of more concentrated energy fields called chakras.

The subtle energy (chi) that flows through your body is as important to your health and well being as the more traditionally recognized bodily functions.  Often when these energies become weak, disturbed or out of balance, we experience physical and emotional symptoms.  In order to relieve these symptoms, the energy that flows through your body must be restored.

Dr. Diane® has the knowledge, training and certification to work with you to bring about remarkable change in your emotional health and behavior.  Energy Psychology can help you to:

  • Boost energy levels
  • Find and remove energy blocks
  • Strengthen your immune system
  • Alleviate stress and pain
  • Improve overall mind-body health
  • Achieve peak performance in physical, mental and creative aspects of life

Nutrition Education
Everyone knows that good nutrition is fundamentally important for good health and for our brains to function properly. Little known is the fact that proper digestive system function and a healthy immune system are critically important to get essential nutrients, brain fitness nutrients to the brain cells that need them. We help each client set individualized goals to include specific nutritious foods into their daily diets.
Nutrition Response Testing
Nutrition Response Testing is an advanced muscle testing technique. We use this non-painful, non-invasive technique to determine which specific whole food nutrition products are required to create an individualized nutrition program to meet the client's unique needs. We track progress weekly on the nutrition program (daily diet improvements and specifically chosen nutrition products) and as the immune system function improves, we begin to see improvements in many body systems and brain function. At 12 weeks we assess the percent improvement in brain function and we can predict how long it will take to reach the client's goals.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy, developed by John Upledger, is the concept of dynamic activity and relationship between the CranioSacral system. CranioSacral Therapy is a technique based on Cranial Osteopathy. Like Cranial Osteopathy, CranioSacral Therapy seeks to restore the natural rhythmic movement found between the bones of the skull. It does the same for the movements of the sacrum. The purpose of this is to aid the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system.

However, CranioSacral Therapists believe that the natural movements at the skull bones come from the membrane that lines our nervous system structures, namely the brain and spinal cord. By improving the natural rhythmic movement it helps improve brain functioning. Therefore, it is an important part of Brain Fitness Training.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy works to maintain and improve movement and functioning of joints and limbs. Physical therapy encompasses exercises that help improve range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, flexibility, balance, motor skills, andgeneral mobility (i.e., walking, climbing stairs, getting in and out of bed or chairs). Physical Therapists tailor a treatment program unique to each individual to help decrease deficits and restore function. Physical therapy may also involve massage therapy, heat or water therapy, along with other interventions that will help improve a patients comfort and accelerate recovery. The ultimate goal of the physical therapy is to restore maximum functional independence to each individual patient.

Physical therapy can be used to rehabilitate a patient after amputations, arthritis, cancer, neurological problems, orthopedic injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and other injuries/illnesses.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is an interpersonal invitation offered by the trained psychotherapists to aid clients in reaching their full potential. Psychotherapy includes techniquesto increase awareness, within your choices of thought, feeling or action; techniques to increase the sense of well-being and to better manage subjective discomfort or distress. It is ultimately about agency and the meaning of life.
Sport Psychology
Sports psychology deals with the psychological factors associated with participation and performance in sports, exercise, and other types of physical activity. Sports psychology has three main objectives: performance enhancement, understanding the effects of participation in sports, and Injury prevention.
Speech-Language Pathology
Also known as speech-language therapy, is the assessment and treatment of speech (articulation, prosody, intonation and rate), language (reading, writing, talking, understanding and the alternative communication systems), cognition (see Cognitive Therapy), voice and social communication skills (social interactions). Treatment is provided by a speech-language pathologist, involves education and training to improve skills and/or learn strategies to compensate so that individuals can be more independent in specified daily tasks.
Water Therapy
Water is a great healer and the ideal medium for rehabilitation, conditioning, training. The hydrostatic (passive) and hydrodynamic (active) properties of water provide an optimal environment for safe and effective therapy and conditioning. With little or no weight bearing in the water, injured or deconditioned client is able to return to desired activities quickly and safely.
