Breaking Through Technologies for Children with Special Needs

A Complete Guide for Using Technology to Help Children with Special Needs

In today’s world, new technologies are constantly being released. One of the great aspects of our technological world, however, is that these new technologies can provide us with different forms of assistance. With the overwhelming amount of products available, it can be hard to know what products to buy or use that can help our children learn better. This is especially true for children with special needs. Do you buy an iPad or iPhone? Which tablet is the best and why?

About Breaking Through

My co-author for Coping with Concussion and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Barbara Albers Hill is a teacher and resource specialist. Barbara recently published Breaking Through in April. This book provides concise, step-by-step methods for what products to buy, what each specific piece of technology can provide, how to use it, and why to use it. These products are excellent tools for children who have ADHD, autism, brain injury, dyslexia, physical challenges, or other special need. As a previous teacher and resource center teacher for children with special needs, I see this book as a must buy, and an encyclopedia of information for both teachers and parents.

Within each person shines an inner light that illuminates our path and is the source of hope. Illness, trauma, suffering and grief can diminish the light and shroud hope. I am a catalyst for hope and change, offering a way to rekindle this inner light.
