Treating Symptoms with Sound, Light, and Audio-Visual Stimulation (AVS)
Hearing and Seeing is Believing!
Do you have Crushing Fatigue, Amped-Up Anxiety, or Consistent Chronic Pain? Most doctors see these problems and write a prescription, but what about treatments that don’t require medication? This blog tells you about devices that are used for treating symptoms with sound, light and audio-visual stimulation (AVS) and, unlike medication, there are few side effects. But don’t take our word for it; hearing and seeing is believing.
Below are the recommended sound, light and audio-visual devices. I have used many myself and have recommended them to my patients. The effectiveness of these devices is equal to any medication or talk therapy. The benefits of using these devices are limited side effects, being involved in your care, and freedom to choose when and where treatment happens.
Please keep in mind that I represent some of the devices presented in this blog (they can be found in the products section of this website), the devices that I don’t represent are ones that I have used and know are effective.
Program/Devices Recommended by Symptom
For Fatigue, Sleep Problems & Insomnia
Sound Programs
Solfeggio Frequencies: 528 Hz Miracle Tone 432Hz said to have specific effects on the brain and emotions and has been effective for many of my patients.
Hemi-Sync: Seaside Slumber uses bilateral sounds (ear to ear) and soothing music.
Sound Therapy
Music is sound waves, and certain forms of music can calm you. Though there is a wide variety of music, you may find that classical, religious, and jazz are more soothing and relaxing than other genres. Music on its own does not improve sleep or anxiety. Still, it has the ability to calm can temporarily address a wide variety of symptoms.
The sound programs mentioned in this blog help with various symptoms, including fatigue, sleep, and insomnia; it also relieves anxiety and depression.
Light Therapy Devices
RoshiWave 2.0 – this push button meditation device is light therapy. It is not Photobiomodulation (PBM), it uses colored lights in glasses, and the results are significant for sleep.
Vielight – 810 Infrared – (PMB) uses near-infrared light to stimulate neuronal cells, which helps to release the calming chemical serotonin, which helps alleviate sleep disorders.
Light Therapy
Light therapy is often called photobiomodulation (PBM) or Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT).
Photobiomodulation (PBM) – Applies red and infrared light. It also helps relieve chronic pain.
Safety Note: If you have a brain tumor or cancer, I would not recommend PBM since it could increase its growth.
Audio-Visual Stimulation (AVS) Devices
David Delight – Is non-invasive and no electrical current is passed through to the user. All resulting effects are produced in the brain solely by audio-visual stimuli.
David Delight Pro – Helpful for insomnia, and also helps mood, mental sharpness, balance in seniors, and improvements in concentration and memory in college students.
Audio-Visual Stimulation (AVS)
These devices use specific sound waves and light frequencies. They are NOT (PMB), instead they use flashes of lights and pulses of tones to guide the brain into various states of activity.
Safety Note: If flashing lights have ever caused a seizure in you, I would not recommend AVS devices.
