An Effective Treatment Option

Understanding Hypnosis Misperceptions

When you mention hypnosis, most people will think of stage hypnosis, where someone is “hypnotized” and asked to cluck like a chicken in front of an audience. What you see is entertainment and not Medical Hypnosis, which started with Frank Mesmer. Hypnosis is an effective treatment for anxiety, sleep problems, chronic pain, shingles, and cancer. Find an in-depth explanation and history of hypnosis and supporting testimonials.

Hypnosis for medical and psychological issues, such as anxiety, can now be done virtually. When hypnosis is performed by a licensed psychologist, it will be covered by insurance. Dr. Diane is not only licensed, but she is also a certified consultant in hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is also published in the Red Bible of Hypnosis: Handbook of Hypnotic Suggestions and Metaphors by Cory Hammond.

In the past, you would have to have an in-person hypnosis session to be covered by health insurance. Since the appearance of Covid-19, virtual hypnosis by phone, Zoom, and many other virtual connections, are also covered by insurance.

Virtual Hypnosis Treatment – What to Expect

For most patients, 10 to 20 sessions of hypnosis will be needed to treat anxiety, cancer, chronic pain, sleep problems, and other medical issues such as colitis or shingles.

Session 1- Demystification of Hypnosis

In the first session, there is a review of what hypnosis is. It is stressed that it is NOT mind control but rather teaching a person how to use their own healing mechanisms and take greater control of their issues through relaxation and visual imagery. Dr. Diane uses hypnosis personally for calming before speaking engagements and for her cancer treatment.

Session 2 and 3 – A Personal Script

The second session is devoted to writing a personal script that provides safety, and security, addressing imagery for specific topics such as shingles or anxiety. The third session is recording the script so you can listen to it at home or in another safe place.

Session 4 to 10 – Levels of Hypnosis

These virtual hypnosis sessions are devoted to the speed of going to the deepest level of hypnosis. You can still be in control at these levels while activating and eliminating the symptoms and causes of your anxiety, sleep problem, shingles, cancer, or colitis.

Virtual Hypnosis – Sessions 11-20 – Underlying Issues

These virtual sessions are devoted to refining, perfecting, and often resolving underlying issues that may have activated your symptoms of anxiety or sleep problems. Once mastered, you will have a method you can use for the rest of your life. If other symptoms arise, such as chronic pain, you can return to modify your script and still have the same results.

A Dr. Diane® testimonial shows an 86-year-old man with shingles who had ten sessions and never had to return. Often, people with PTSD return because other life events have triggered flashbacks or trauma. Again, the duration depends on the symptoms and the cause.

Despite the advent of medication, hypnosis is still an effective treatment option for anxiety, chronic pain, chronic illness, shingles, PTSD, sleep disorders, and cancer. And now, thanks to modern technology virtual hypnosis also provides another effective treatment option. It can take 10 to 20 sessions depending on the symptoms and cause, but rest assured, you won’t be asked to cluck like a chicken!

Within each person shines an inner light that illuminates our path and is the source of hope. Illness, trauma, suffering and grief can diminish the light and shroud hope. I am a catalyst for hope and change, offering a way to rekindle this inner light.
