Easy Chocolate Bark

Ingredients

  • 1 bar (about 5 oz) baking chocolate at least 70%
  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp black strap molasses
  • 3 tbsp crushed nuts I used walnuts and pistachios. Pecans would also be delicious and brain healthy!
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut unsweetened
  • 2 pinches coarse sea salt or more to taste

Instructions

  • Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. If you don't have a double boiler, fill a saucepan with a few inches of water and bring to a boil. Place a smaller saucepan into the boiling water to use as a double-boiler. Melt the chocolate in the smaller saucepan, and add the molasses and coconut oil, stirring together until smooth.
  • Place a piece of parchment paper over a baking sheet and pour the chocolate mixture over the parchment paper. Spread it out so that it is just about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Top the chocolate with your toppings (nuts, coconut, sea salt, and anything else you may like), and place the baking sheet in the freezer for a few hours.
  • Break apart into pieces and enjoy!
