“Get in The Zone” with Mental Health

by | May 20, 2022 | Brain Fitness, Brain Health | 0 comments

Dr. Diane’s focus is helping athletes, performers, executives and even first responders improve their mental health so that they can get in “The Zone” at those crucial moments.

“The Zone”

You can get into “The Zone” when your mental health is good. This is especially true for sports professionals, performance artists, and business executives. Your brain waves need to be aligned when striving for mental health. Just like driving a car, all the tires must be aligned and have equal air pressure for the car to operate correctly.

When we are in “The Zone,” we are in perfect balance; and can perform to our best ability. We respond rather than react when we are in “The Zone.” We are compassionate and caring. We are at our peak ability in whatever we are doing.

Why Should You Care about Mental Health?

Taking care of yourself is key to maintaining good mental health. Throughout life, there will be times when your mental health may suffer. Factors like insomnia or sleep problems, poor nutrition, stress, unhealthy relationships, trauma, and more can affect your mental health. Addressing these factors can help improve your mental health status. For example, you can have periods of poor mental health without having a diagnosable condition – like you can be physically unhealthy without having a particular illness.

Methods of Getting in “The Zone”

There are internal methods that you can do on your own and external methods that involve something or someone else’s help. Usually, the best solution to getting into “The Zone” is to use a combination of both.

Internal Method Examples

  • Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) / Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
  • Heart Rate Variability Breathing
  • Hypnosis
  • Meditation
  • Progressive Relaxation
  • Visualization
