Cheers to Chocolate
In seven recent studies, scientists reviewed the health effects of consuming chocolate- white, milk, and dark. The results of these studies indicated a significantly decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, and a lower risk for stroke among people who regularly ate chocolate. The authors of the study attribute such beneficial heart and brain benefits to the nutrients in chcoolate that have polyphenols. Polyphenols are thought to reduce blood clotting, and improve blood pressure and blood vessel health.
Next time your feeling guilty about treating yourself to that chocolate bar, or sneaking in an afternoon milkshake, just remember. You’re lessening your chance of a future stroke and cardiovascular disease!
